SAI Convention

By Sue Middleton

The Sweet Adelines International Convention and Competitions will be held in Seattle, October 19-23. With FOUR contests (Rising Star, Harmony Classic and the chorus and quartet competitions) during the week, you might want to get in on the action! An all-events registration badge covers admission to Harmony Classic (for small and mid-size choruses), the quartet semifinals/finals, the chorus semifinals/finals, Harmony Bazaar, and education classes, and costs $215 for non-members. A registration form is available at: http://www.sweetadelineintl.org/pdf/Seattle10regform.pdf . Single event tickets are also available to the contests: http://www.sweetadelineintl.org/pdf/seattlesingleticketform.pdf

Tickets to the Rising Star Quartet Competition (for quartets with members 25 years of age and younger) are sold separately, and benefit the Young Singers Foundation and the Young Women in Harmony Program. These tickets are $40 and can be ordered at: http://www.sweetadelineintl.org/pdf/seattlesingleticketform.pdf

Also of interest is the Coronet Club Show, which is similar to the BHS AIC Show and features past quartet champions. This year's special guests are Max Q. That show is on Friday, October 22 at 8:00 pm and tickets are $30. You can get more information and an order form at: http://www.coronetclub.org/show.htm

All shows will be held at Key Arena; the Harmony Bazaar is at the Washington State Convention Center. For general information about convention, visit: http://www.sweetadelineintl.org/seattle.cfm
