Kitsap Chordsmen Win Competition
The
Kitsap Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, known locally as the Kitsap
Chordsmen, walked away with the title of Small Chorus Champion during the Evergreen
District Chorus Competition recently in Boise, Idaho. They placed sixth
overall.
Mike
Menefee, Kitsap Chordsmen director, led the group in
"Sing Me That Song Again," followed by assistant director Rob Nitz directing "Little Girl." Menefee
also finished second in the quartet competition with the quartet, FastTrack. He sang tenor along with Dan Hofkamp
on lead; Don Rose, baritone; and Adrian Leonovich,
bass.
The
Evergreen District includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, British
Columbia and Alberta.
The
group is accepting new members from the Kitsap, Mason and Jefferson counties to
join them in their annual Christmas Caroling.
Rehearsals:
7 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday in November.
